Just checked, and the whole of the Kinni system is looking good. Rain is lurking but, I say go. Waiting on word for the Rush but It is probably getting back to normal.

Fished the Rush upstream from Lost Creek between 11am and 1pm today. 6″ to 12″ visibility. Little Black Caddis fluttering about the riprap edge. Had to put fly tight to the rock to get a take. Caught only a few but nice fish. Hope we don’t get any more rain.

Andy,
Wandered east for brook trout. Noticed Eau Galle had color but would have been fishable. Perhaps Rush would have been similar. Odd thing today. Lamprey must have been spawning. I’ve seen them on this stream before. Noticed groups of them in the gravel. Brookies had full bellies. Do you know how long the caddis have been out? This was the first weekend I’ve seen dandelions so I figured they were there.

You were hoping, and me as well for no more rain. I began today by canceling my guide day. Flows have spiked from last nights down-pours, and more rain is on the way. Glad you found a few before the spike.

JL— I think I know which stream you were fishing, I was there on Saturday and saw the lampreys as well. Caddis were going nuts on some of the smaller brookie streams this weekend, but didn’t see them on the mainstem rivers.

Yesterday would have been the day. Fished for an hour in the afternoon and the trout were on fire.
Did not see lamprey’s yesterday but I know the trout love them.
Saw a few rises. Just needed a little heat and sun for the caddis to go. Hope this recent rain has not washed them away.
