Many of you who know me are aware that in April of this year one of my best friends passed away. Our journeys both began in the late 70’s at UW River Falls. We met fishing in 1982 and became room mates through the end of our college years. Bob was an excellent trout angler and was present on countless adventures to the cold water fisheries of the Mountain West, but in his heart of hearts enjoyed the pursuit of smallmouth bass and even more, the elusive musky. Armed with his fly rod, Bob explored the rivers and lakes of Wisconsin and Minnesota, making certain one of these species was present in the waters he fished. On opening day of this year’s bass season, on the day we picked as a remembrance of his friendship, he let us know he was there with us, and always would be.

Super cool. Strong video and commentary. It looks like it was a good time. What about the smallmouth? Did he take the articulated larva boy?
No one knows about the poor little smallmouth. I think he was ejected on one of the musky’s jumps or netting attempts.
