Minnesotas 2005 licences are good until Febuary 28th. The 2006 licences will be available on Febuary 21st and will not be valid until the 1st of March 2006. Minnesota is NOT allowing a grace period so if you don’t currently hold a valid Minnesota angling licence your only economical option to legally fish during those 7 days is to buy a 24 hour angling licence. This licence does include trout fishing privileges. the Winter trout season is in full swing beginning on Jan 1st on a limited number of streams in the southeast. April 1st will be the opening of all inland trout waters in the southeast for catch and release only. April 15 will be the opening of the regular season where the regulated harvest of fish is allowed. Please check the DNR web-site or regs book for specific regulations pertaining to paticular regions.
