By most accounts the fishing was good over the opening weekend. Fish were congregated in the deeper pools with a few rainbows in the faster water. The stream temps did not get to 40 degrees on the Whitewater where I was. This temp works as a general rule to follow in regards to trout activity. Water temps are important at this time of year to understanding trout behavior. Small hares ears, p. tails and olive scudds worked well, with a pink squriel mixed in for fun.
